The Zuilichem Polder Mill was built in 1720, and was responsible for the eastern part of the Bommelerwaard polder. In total, there were 17 mills in the Bommelerwaard polder area, all working together to keep the land dry. The Zuilichem Polder Mill was upgraded to a steam pump in 1855, and was in use until 1950. The mill has been ran on a voluntary basis since 1981. Tours of the Zuilichem Polder Mill are available by appointment only.
