Zuidbroek Mill
Provinvialeweg, Zuidbroek - Netherlands

Map

The Zuidbroek Mill is an unusual ’American Windmotor’ type of windmill. It was built to a design by Hercules Metallicus in 1922. The mill was manufactured in the German Wind Turbine Factory in Dresden, and was originally used to serve the Bergambacht Zuidbroek polder. The mill has been recently restored, and during times of suitable weather, the mill is still used for drainage purposes. When there is no wind, the duties of the mill are picked up by an electric pump.
