The Zandwijk Mill was built in 1699 to serve the Zandwijk Polder. There were originally seven wipmolens in the area, but today only the Zandwijk Mill and its neighbout the Uitwijkse Mill are still in working order. The mill was closed down in 2003 due to its poor condition. A long term restoration project has been started, and it is hoped that the mill will re-open in 2009. Tours of the mill are available by appointment.
