The Zutphen Winehouse Tower, or Wijnhuis is one of the few remaining landmarks in the city from the 17th century. The tower is quite a conspicuous landmark, located on the junction between Groenmarkt and Houtmarkt. The bottom part of the tower was constructed in 1618, the spire is slightly more recent, dating from 1637. The tower is now a symbol of pride, and a reminder of the high status of the city during the 17th century.|
