The Wilhelmus Hubertoshof was built in 1904 to replace an older mill that had suffered serious structural damage after it was struck by lightning. The mill was originally owned by Piet Meulen. Shortly after the mill was built, a piece of the internal mechanism broke, and a young millers boy, Ferdinand Boonen ran inside to investigate the noise. He was hit by a piece of flying wood, and sustained some serious injuries. He died a few years later. The mill is now owned by the artist Ton Pieper, and is open to the public.
