Watersnoodmuseum
Weg van de Buitenlandse Pers 5, Ouwerkerk - Netherlands

Map
The Watersnoodmuseum is located just outside of Zierikzee, it was founded to commemorate the great floods of 1953, which were a major inspiration for the Delta Project. The musuem is housed in a ’caisson’ – one of the original concrete bunkers which was put in place to plug a break in the dyke. The museum displays scale models which show the extent of the damage caused by the flood, along with photographs and newsreel footage from the time, and some construction equipment that was actually used in the project.
