The Young Dirk Mill is a relatively modern paper mill located on Weelsloot in the town of Westzaan. It was built in 1959 for Mr. J. Vooren. In 1974, the mill was sold to Mr A. Butterman, who was also the owner of ’the neighbouring ’Schoolmaster’ mill. The Young Dirk is still in use today, and is open to the public, although the mill is only accessible by boat.
