There has been a mill on the site of the current Venemansmolen since 1659. The first mill had belonged to a German landowner, and was destroyed in a fire in 1827. Mr J. D. Veneman later bought the land and the remains of the mill, and built a new mill in its place. The mill was passed down through five generations of the Veneman family, before being given to the Venemansmolen Foundation in 1992 for the symbolic amount of 1 Gilder. The mill is open to the public every Saturday.
