The Swan Mill was built in 1904, to replace a steam-powered grain mill that had previously served the area. The mill was built by H. Garssen, using parts from an old pelmolen from Uithuizen. The mill was threatened with demolition in 1980, buy was saved by the ’Interest Voorster’ initiative, which bought and restored the mill in 1986. Today the mill is used to produce feed for animals. The Swan mill is open to the public every Saturday morning.
