The Stork Mill was built in 1662 near the Kalverpolder in the town of Zaandam. In recent years, the area surrounding the mill has become crowded with industrial buildings, which have seriously reduced the flow of wind to the mill. The Stork Mill was bought by the Zaansche Mill Society in 1955. The society did a lot of restoration work on the mill. The Stork is now ran on a weekly basis, and is used to produce oil.
