The Passion Mill was built in 1776 by the company Niewe Vecht. It was used as an oil mill to process oil seeds for animal feed, and for oil lamps. The mill was used for commercial purposes until around 1920. Since then, there has been regular restoration work performed to keep the mill working, and the mill is now ran on a voluntary basis. The Passion Mill is open to the public, and has a small shop which sells oil, flour, and a range souvenirs.
