The Hondsrug mill was built in 1905, and moved to its current location in 1910, to replace a mill that had been destroyed by a fire the previous year. The mill was originally a polder mill, serving the Flikkezijlsterpolder in the town of Delfzijl. In 1945, the Hondsrug mill was decommissioned because of its poor condition. It was not restored until 1988. The current owner of the mill is Mr. R. Hoving. Tours of the mill are available upon request.
