The Engel Mill was built in 1849 for Mr Arendesen. The mill was originally called ’The Hope’, but was re-named when it was sold to Mr. J. Erkel a few years later. The mill was decommissioned in 1936, and stood idle until 1967 when it was bought by the town, and restoration work began. The mill was re-opened in 1976, and is still in use today. The Engel Mill is open to the public every Saturday.
