The Dog Mill was built in 1896 to serve a 645 hectare section of the Castricummerpolder. The mill is no longer able to operate at full efficiency, as there have been many buildings constructed in the way of the mill, which block the wind. The Dog Mill is still in good working order, and ran on an occasional basis, as a backup method of drainage. Tours of The Dog Mill are available by appointment only.
