The Batavian mill was built in 1801, during the time when the Netherlands was called the Batavian Republic. The construction of the mill cost F3255, and the mill was opened on June 2nd 1801, at approximately 12 o’clock in the afternoon. In 1849, the mill was sold to G. te Lintum. The mill is still owned by the Lintum family today. The mill is in a very poor condition, and is no longer operational. In 2003, the Batavian Mill Foundation was formed. The foundation plans to restore the mill to working order.
