The Akkermolen was built in 1550 for the Marquis of Bergen op Zoom, to replace an old water mill on the border between Zundert-Nassau and Zundert-Hertog. The mill was sold to Baron William V of Breda in 1794. The mill was restored in 1972, and is now owned by Zundert County. The Akkermolen is open to the public. There are no fixed opening hours, but tours of the mill can be arranged by appointment.
