The Aeolus Mill was built in 1869. It is a round stone ’stellingmolen’, and was originally used as a pelmolen, to remove the husks from grains such as barley. The mill is very large, with a flight of 24.2 meters. The Aeolus Mill is now owned by Kapelle County, and is open to the public. Tours of the mill are available by appointment only. The mill, and it’s neighbour ’De Hoop’, can be seen clearly from the nearby dike, and the view is especially attractive on an evening.
