The ’t Haantje mill is a hollow post corn mill located in Weesp. The mill dates back to around 1820, and the hollow post design comes from the traditional ’wipmolen’, or drainage mill, design - which has been used to drain the polders in the Netherlands for centuries. The hollow post design has a number of advantages, including offering more space for the milling process in the lower building. The mill is no longer operational.
