The Poldermolen K was built in 1635 to serve a 335 hectare section of the Schermer Polder. The name of the mill comes from the name of the section of the polder that it served. This naming convention was very common in the 17th century. The Poldermolen K was decommissioned in 1947. The mill is now owned by the Schermer Mills Foundation, and has been recently restored. The mill can frequently be seen in operation.
