The Ondermolen O is one of 24 mills that were built between 1634 and 1636 to serve the Schermer Polder. The mill was decommissioned in 1929, and stood idle for several years before being bought by the Schermer Mills Foundation. The Ondermolen O is now ran by a voluntary miller, who also lives in the mill. The Ondermolen O was restored to working order in early 2005, and can now regularly be seen in operation.
