The Nooit Gedacht mill has a long history. The first incarnation of the mill was built in 1850 for the farmer Derk Jan Oudenampsen. The mill has had several owners, and came in to the possession of Jan Garssen in 1869. The mill was destroyed by a fire in March 1905, but was rebuilt within just a few months. The mill stayed in the Garssen family until 1971, when it was sold to the Dutch Mill Association. The Noot Gedacht mill is open to the public every Saturday.
