The Nieman’s Mill is a relatively modern corn mill in the town of Veelerveen. It was built in 1916 by Mr P. Wiertsema from Beerta. The octagonal base of the mill was taken from a decommissioned watermill in Midwolda. The Nieman’s Mill was sold to the town of Veelerveen for the symbolic amount of 1 guilder in the 1960s. The mill is currently in good condition, and is maintained by Mr J. Hazelhoff. The mill is open to the public, with tours available by appointment.
