The Nationaal Oorlogs – en Verzetsmuseum, or National War and Resistance Museum is located just outside of Venray, in a small town caled Overloon which was almost destroyed during World War II, after a battle in which 2400 men died. The museum was set up using military gear that had been left behind after the battle, and was intended ’Not merely as a monument for remembrance ...[but] as an admonition and warning, a denouncement of war and violence’.
