The Museum Schotse Huizen is a small museum in the town of Veere that holds a collection of costumes, books, maps, furniture, and fishing paraphernalia related to the local area, along with some information on the ’unknown’ Veere artist colony. The museum is housed in two 16th century gothic style buildings, and charts the development of the town from the beginnings of its trade with Scotland, to the building of the dam at the entrance to the sea arm in 1961.
