The Monstertoren, also known as Dikke Toren is a large tower that was designed by the famous Keldermans family of architects. The tower was originally planned to be a massive 167 metres tall, however work was halted because of financial problems, when the tower had reached 97 metres in height. It is still an imposing sight on the skyline of Zierikzee, and a testament to the creativity of the Keldermans family.
