The Jacobus Mill is the largest windmill in the Netherlands, with a flight of more than 28 metres. The Jacobus Mill was built in 1893 for James Peeters, to replace a post mill that had been destroyed in a fire. The mill was bought by the town in 1955, and was restored in 1986. Today, the mill is managed by the Vessem Mill Foundation, and can regularly be seen in operation. The Jacobus Mill is open to the public every Saturday.
