The Hackfort Water Mill was built in the early 18th century, and is a part of the Hackfort Castle. In 1981, the castle was donated to the Dutch Association of Nature and Monuments by Baroness Johanna Wetsgrel of Hackfort when the last descendant of her family died. The mill was restored in 1997, is now ran on a voluntary basis. The water mill is used to grind grain for cattle feed. The mill is open to visitors every Saturday.
