Fort at Botshol
Fort in de Botshol, Waverveen - Netherlands

Map
The ’Fort in de Botshol’ is located near the village of Waver. The name ’Fort’ is something of a misnomer, as the fort was never actually constructed, and all that can be seen is the earthworks that mark where the concrete fort would have been. The defence works project that the fort was to be a part of was a massive one, which was carried out over a period of more than 40 years. The project was abandoned when the old concrete forts became obsolete after advances in modern warfare.
