De Tweede Broekermolen

The Tweede Broekermolen was built in 1631, as one of five mills intended to serve the 1805 hectare Uitgeester and Heemskerkerbroek Polder. There is a plaque on the mill engraved with ’Anno 1781’, which it is believed is to commemorate the renewal of the hood of the mill. In 1929 the Tweede Broekermolen was decommissioned. It was later restored, and since 1967, the mill has been ran on weekends, and during the summer, as a tourist attraction.
