The De Hoop mill was built in 1850 on Lange Nobelstraat, to replace an older wooden mill that was demolished a few years earlier because of its poor condition. The mill is currently owned by the Schouwen-Duiveland County. The current miller is Mr T. van den Bok. The De Hoop mill is used to produce flour for local traditional bakeries, as well as other grain products such as fodder for animals. The mill is open to the public every Saturday morning.
