The De Hoop is a traditional corn mill located on Babberichseweg in the town of Zevenaar. It was built in 1845 for Mr J. Meyer. The mill was sold to Mr J. J. Pijnappel shortly after it was built, and is still owned by the Pijnappel family today. The mill is still in use today, and is open to the public on certain special days such as ’National Mill Day’. Tours of the mill are also availably by appointment, however hygiene regulations dictate that the public may not enter the mill while it is being used for commercial purposes.
