De Hoop Mill

The De Hoop Mill was built in 1886 on the Western Kanaalweg in the town of Wemeldinge. The mill was originally used as a commercial corn mill, but was closed down in 1968. While it was idle, he condition of the mill deteriorated rapidly. The town bought the mill in 1981, and started a major restoration project. The De Hoop mill is now ran on a voluntary basis, and is open to the public every Saturday.
