The De Hoed Mill is the only post mill in the South Beveland region. It was originally built as an oil mill in the town of Gent in 1550, and was converted to a corn mill in the late 17th century. The mill was then moved to Kruiningen by Johannes van Dijke in 1858, and moved again to its current location in 1989. The mill is open to the public, and is located near a picnic site which offers a good view of two historic millstones, and a beautiful miniature windmill.
