The ’De Arend’, or ’The Eagle’ mill is a historic mill in the town of Zuidland. It was commissioned by Pieter de Guild in 1844 to replace a wooden mill that had been destroyed in a fire. The mill was in use until 1954, when it was decommissioned, and entered a period of decline. In 1969 the mill was bought by the town, who restored it, and now run it on a voluntary basis. The mill is open to visitors on Fridays and Saturdays, with appointments available on other days.
