The Daams Mill was built in 1934, and was in active use until the mid 1960s, after which it went into a state of decline. The mill faced demolition in the 1980s, but was saved by the Vaasense Mill Foundation, who began restoration work in 1989. The mill was re-opened on the 9th May, which is National Mill Day, in 1990. The mill is still in working order today and is open to the public every Saturday, with tours available on other days upon request.
