The Church of Our Lady (also known as Onze Lieve Vrouwekerk) is loacted just off the Ossemarkt in Zwolle. It is an old Catholic church, and has had a difficult history. In 1580 it was closed by the Protestants, and was utilised for a variety of purposes, including as a musket range. It was returned to the Catholics and re-opened in 1809. The church has a neo-gothic design, with many ornate paintings, and an interesting tower known to locals as ’De Peperbus’, (The Pepper Mill) because of it’s very distinctive shape.
