Centrum “De Noordwester” is a maritime centre located in the village of Oost-Vlieland. The Centre is geared towards children. The Maritime Centre focuses on the natural aspects of the marine world, and explains such things as how dunes are formed. The maritime center has an interesting collection of shells, and some aquariums containing craps and rays. There is also a forest, but the information in that section of the maritime centre is in Dutch only.
