The Windmotor Swichtum is a modern watermill located just to the South of the Ayltadyk in the town of Swichtum. The mill is of the U.S. Wind Engine design, which was very popular in the Friesland region at the start of the 20th century. The Windmotor Swichtum is a fairly small mill, with a flight of just 4.5 metres. The mill is currently in very poor condition, and is in need of restoration work.
