The Westeveld Mill was built in 1865 for the miller Mr. Brunninkhuis, who also worked as a baker. It was quite common for millers in the eastern part of the Netherlands to also own bakeries, but this combination was rare in other parts of the country. The mill was sold to the Oortmanmolen Foundation in 1982. At the time, the Westeveld Mill was in a deteriorating condition. The Foundation began restoration work in 1984, and re-opened the mill later that year. The mill is open to the public. Current opening times are listed on the mill web site.
