The Waterkrachtcentrale Sluis 15 was built in 1923. It is the southern neighbour to the Willemsvaart lock, and is used to produce clean and renewable hydro-electric power. The sluis can produce 36kW of power, and the electricity that it produces is fed into the public network. The turbines are owned by the Rijkswaterstaat, and are part of a network of hydroelectric turbines. The facility is open to the public, but an appointment is required.
