The Speelman mill was originally built in 1712. It was bought by The Dutch Mill Association in 1972, and is currently managed by the Foundation for the Conservation of the Speelman Mill. The mill was originally called ’The Hope, but was renamed after major restoration work was performed on the mill in 1970. Today the mill is used to produce grain and flour products for local bakeries. The mill is open to the public every Wednesday and Saturday.
