The Leijen Mill was built in 1854 for Henry De Weert, the town miller. The Leijen Mill stayed in the De Weert Family for several generations, but in 1985 Albertus de Weert sold the mill to Mr. A. Zielman. The Leijen Mill is the last remaining working mill in the town of Staphorst. The mill is open to the public every Saturday morning, and tours of the mill are available on other days by appointment.
