The Fraeylemamolen is an historic polder mill. It was built in 1786 for H. Veldtman, the then Lord of Schloteren. The mill was used to drain the Groote Oosterpolder – a 132 hectare area of land. Today, the mill is a part of the Slochteren Mill Foundation. Extensive restoration work was carried out on the mill in January 2004. The Fraeylemamolen is open to the public, although it is best to call to make an appointment before visiting.
