The Ceres Mill was built in 1839 on behalf of TP Houtman and his wife, HJ Allersma. The mill was sold to M. Kimm in 1845. The Ceres Mill is unique inn that it does not have a stone foundation. The mill was built to a Flemish design, and the sails are more than 21 metres long. The mill is now owned by the Groninger Landscape Foundation. Tours of the mill are available every Saturday.
