The Stavenisse Mill was built by Huybert van Rossem in 1801, to replace a post mill which had been destroyed during a hurricane in November 1800. The mill was sold to H. Roozemond in 1828, and stayed in the Roozemond family until 1888. Since then, the mill has had several owners. Today, the mill is owned by Tholen County. The Stavenisse mill is open to the public, and tours of the mill are available by appointment.
