The Stadhuis in Sneek is located just around the corner from Martiniplein, and features an extravagant Rococo facade and an ornate staircase on the outside of the building. There has been a town hall at this location since the 1500s, although the present building is much newer, with the staircase dating back to 1744. Inside, there is an array of weapons on display in the former guardroom, and stucco decoration on the walls and ceiling, with Unity and Cupid bearing the town arms.
