The Schagerbrug Mill D was built in 1839 to serve a 198 hectare section of the Zijpe and Hazepolder. The mill was closed down in 1950, when Section D of the Zijpe and Hazepolder was merged with Section E, and an electric pump took over the duties of the mill. The condition of the mill began to rapidly decay, and in 1958, the mill was sold to a private owner for a small, symbolic amount, on the condition that the new owner would restore and maintain the mill. Tours of the mill are available by appointment.
