The Rijksmuseum Twente is howsed in a 1930s Art Deco Mansion. The museum features a large collection of fine art donated to the city by a wealthy local family, the Van Heeks. The museum contains two main sections – one of 15th to 19th century art, and another for modern and contemporary art. Most of the displays are concerned with Dutch Expressionism, although there is some religious art also.
