The Nooitgedacht mill in Spijkenisse was founded in 1844 by the bricklayer Van Roon, who was also the first miller. The mill was sold to J. Kranenburg in 1918, who ran a co-operative called ’Our Interest’. The co-operative later closed down, but the mill is still owned by the Kranenburg family. In 1999 the mill was restored, and on May 13th, 2000 the mill was re-opened. Tours of the mill are available by appointment.
