The Netherlands Fotomuseum has a collection of almost three million negatives, slides and prints, covering almost an entire century of photography. The museum runs a variety of short term exhibitions – sometimes focusing on the work of one photographer (Hans Aarsman or Frits Rotgans, for example), and sometimes on one subject, such as the Great Flood of 1953, or the ocean liner Rotterdam. The museum has its own restoration department, with a team of experts who care for the museum’s collection.
